Welcome to South Jordan

A growing mountainside community 25 minutes from Salt Lake City

South Jordan is a community of more than 73,000, just south of Salt Lake City. Clean and pristine, the town sits within the valley between the Wasatch and Oquirrh Mountain ranges, making it a truly breathtaking place to call home. Residents regularly take part in a number of community events, lending the area a small-town feel though it’s a sizable suburb. Residents love driving past new farmhouses, modern estates, and stunning Colonial Revivals that only add to the town’s collective charm and beauty.

One unique feature of South Jordan is the Daybreak residential community, a 4,000-acre area that offers everything from townhomes to sizable single-family dwellings to expansive estates. The planned community is centered around art, music, commerce, and cuisine, encouraging residents to connect with one another and lead healthy, happy lives.

A true suburb minutes from downtown Salt Lake, South Jordan has everything residents might need. Locals love the town’s laid-back feel as they spend their free time shopping at the District or playing a round of mini-golf at Mulligan’s.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

South Jordan has a great selection of restaurants, performance venues, and retailers to keep its residents busy year-round. R&R BBQ is a local favorite for slow-cooked meats, burgers, and beer. The Pie Pizzeria takes pizza to another level by offering gourmet toppings like bacon and berries, whipped cream cheese, and Thai sauce. Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is the place to go for a quick bite, and Schmidt's Pastry Cottage serves a thorough menu of deli favorites and delicious desserts.

Live music can be found at a number of local restaurants, including The Break South Jordan, or locals can take in a concert or play at the Kensington Theatre. South Jordan’s shops are found at the South Jordan Towne Center, with additional retailers at the District plaza and the Shops at South Town.

Things to Do

So much of South Jordan’s activities center around bringing the community together for outdoor recreation and festivals. Mulligan’s Golf and Games is a golf course on the east side of town where residents can play a round on two nine-hole courses. There’s also mini-golf, batting cages, and a driving range so that every member of the family can join in the fun. For all things horse racing, training, and showing, the Salt Lake County Equestrian Park and Event Center is located at the southern edge of South Jordan City Park. The park is one of the top spots for an afternoon outdoors, with soccer fields, a boxing gym, pickleball courts, and a skatepark.

For a taste of local history and culture, the Gale Center Museum displays artwork, artifacts, and insights into South Jordan’s local history. There are many community events hosted by South Jordan each year. Christmas in Color is a fun holiday event where residents can drive through town and witness animated light shows set to music. There’s also the SoJo Summerfest, where individuals and families can enjoy a carnival, food trucks, petting zoos, and athletic competitions. Moonlight in the Movies is another summer festival featuring weekly movies screened in the park, while the Pumpkin Promenade happens every fall in Heritage Park with pumpkin carving competitions and prizes.
